GUWAHATI, Jan 1: Zublee Baruah Production House has launched its latest venture MAATI – The Folk Factor, Vol –II, on December 29 at Rudra Baruah Auditorium, Jyoti Chitraban, Kahilipara in Guwahati. MAATI – II is the sequel of MAATI, released in the year 2014, which gained lot of appreciation, love and popularity among the people of Assam and the nation, as it was nominated at Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) in the Best Folk Album category. After almost four years of sheer hard work, the team has come up with MAATI – II.
MAATI – II mostly depicts the rooted elements of nature, love, humanity, devotion and emphasises on the simplicity of existence. The diversity of our cultures, reflect in our folk music, which, Zublee Baruah takes pride in presenting with her compositions (contemporary music). Showcasing the richness of folk music and culture is itself a challenge, and we have given our best to achieve that.
MAATI – II comprises of seven melodious tracks, effortlessly blending traditional folk tunes with contemporary compositions. The first track “Jadobo Rai” starts with a Ghuxa, which is the signature of the song. This is followed by “Saheb Jai”, a popular traditional Zikir.
The third one “Ohori Hoiya” comprises of a Karbi folk. The next track “Shankar Guru” includes a Kamrupi Lokogeet, which was popularised by two most renowned & respected artists of Assam, Late. Rameshwar Pathak & Dhanada Pathak. Following this, is “Bagurumba”, a beloved Bodo folk. “Bhekli Maate” which is the next track, comprises of a Bahurangi Rabha folk. The concluding track, “Tauling Porota”, is a well-known Tiwa folk.
The song “Bagurumba”, a duet by Zubeen Garg & Zublee Baruah, has been beautifully penned by Zubeen Garg & programmed by Bibhuti Gogoi. Two other tracks “Saheb Jai” & “Bhekli Maate”, have been written by Diganta Bharati, which have been programmed by Dony Hazarika/ Dipkesh Borgohain & Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, respectively. Dr. Sabyasachi Mahanta holds the credit for penning down “Jadobo Rai”, which has been programmed by DonyHazarika/ Dipkesh Borgohain.
The tracks “Ohori Hoiya”, “Tauling Porota” & “Shankar Guru” is written by Rajdweep & these three tracks have been programmed by Dony Hazarika, Dipkesh Borgohain & Dony Hazarika /DipkeshBorgohain, respectively. The Additional Programming, Mixing & Mastering for all the seven tracks have been done by Dony Hazarika at Staccato, Mumbai.
Apart from the musicians of Assam, Zublee Baruah has collaborated with some of the noted musicians of India. The most dynamic stroke player of India Tapas Roy, popular guitarist Sanjoy Das (Bapi) & eminent flautist ParasNath, have added an extra charm to MAATI – II. The tracks have been recorded at Studio, Staccato Mumbai, Geet Audiocraft, Mumbai & Studio Orange, Guwahati.
All the seven tracks have been visualised & directed by the noted choreographer of Assam, Pankaj Ingti.
