KHERONI, June 26: Preparations are in full swing for Mahila Samaroh organised by Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM) under state panchayat and rural development department at Kheroni in West Karbi Anglong on Thursday.
Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal will attend the programme as chief guest and distribute cheques of Rs 25000 each to women Self Help Groups (SHGs) Kanaklata Mahila Sabalikaran Yojana (KAMS)”. Altogether 50 representatives of various SHGs of Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao districts are expected to take part in the programme. The scheme was launched by the state government to promote 1 lakh women SHGs.
Security arrangements have been intensified due to the visit of the chief minister. A makeshift helipad was also put up for the chief minister.
Finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Pradesh BJP president Ranjeet Dass, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) chief executive member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang, North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) CEM Debolal Gorlosa, mission director of Assam state Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM), Nandita Hazarika, executive members &EMs) and members of autonomous council (MACs) will attend the programme.
MAC and the president of Reception Committee of Mahila Samaroh), Mangal Sing Timung, MAC and reception committee secretary Pawan Kumar and MAC Reena Terangpi visited the venue of the programme and reviewed the preparation.
