GOLAGHAT, Sept 23: Martyr Kamala Miri was one of the national heroes who sacrificed his life on 1943 in April 23 at Jorhat Central Jail for the consequent upon his fight against British imperialist rule. But till today, martyr Kamala Miri and his Samadhi-Shetra was unfortunately neglected by the government, said adviser of All India Tribal Students’ Association Assam (AITSAA) Arindom Prince Panging on the eve of inaugural ceremony of Martyr Kamala Miri park at Gulung Temera under the Bokakhat of Golaghat district. The event was organised by Swohid Kamala Miri 75th Death Anniversary Celebration Committee Golaghat on Monday.
At the opening ceremony the newly installed Samadhi-Shetra was officially inaugurated by Martyr Kamala Miri’s keen daughter-in-low, Haliram Loying and the members of the Takam Mising Kangkin Ajon WhatsApp group.
In an open session, social activist Suneswar Narah demanded immediate release of postal card in memory of Martyr Kamala Miri.
