BOKAJAN, Nov 20: Assam government is planning to set up medical college in each district of the state.
BJP MLA from Bokajan and chairman of Assam urban Water Supply and Sewage Board (AWSSB), Dr Numal Momin informed this while addressing an inaugural function of a primary health centre (PHC) at Hidipi on Tuesday.
Dr Momin said that the BJP-led government has taken up a major initiative to improve road connectivity in Karbi Anglong, especially in Bokajan.
Inaugurating the PHC, the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) EM Khan Sing Rongpi expressed hope that the health centre would take care of the health needs of the people of the area.
He said, “The PHC will have three doctors along with nurses. It is a matter of joy that Hidipi finally have a dependable medical facility after so many years. The people will be relief from now on.”
Borjan VDC chairman Khrist Rongphar, KAAC chairman Longki Timung, joint director of health service, Dr. Kareng Rongpipi, MACs Pabitra Rongpi and Mukut Mahanta and others were present at the inauguration.
