PASIGHAT, Aug 20: A meeting on the implementation of ‘Smart Village Movement (SVM)’ was held at DC’s conference hall at Roing in Lower Dibang Valley district of eastern Arunachal on Monday.
Chairing the meeting, Lower Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom urged the district level officers to keep active cooperation with implementing agencies for successful implementation of the SVM and provide sufficient data about the programme.
Regional Associate ( East) of the programme, Banta Natung briefed the gathering on the Smart Village Movement and informed that two villages -Denlo and Bomjir in the district have been selected for SVM scheme.
The Smart Village Movement, with a vision to build smart villages by empowering people and a mission to increase happiness of the villagers, aims to make 100 smart villages in the state. A Smart Village is a community empowered by digital technologies and open innovation platform to access global market.
