ITANAGAR, Aug 16: Arunachal Pradesh governor Brig. (Dr.) BD Mishra (Retd.) expressed shock and grief on the demise of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said that in death of Atalji, India has lost the tallest leader, politician, statesman, patriot, literary figure and the loftiest human face of Independent India.
Paying homage to the great leader, the governor said that Atalji was an apostle of unity, harmony and secularism. One of the best orators of all time, Atal ji was a great visionary and the most respected leader of India. Cutting across the political party lines, he commanded admiration of all.
The governor said that Atalji demonstrably conducted the nuclear tests at Pokhran and thereby laid the foundation of NUCLEAR SELF RELIANCE for the defence of India.
Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu has expressed his deepest condolence on the demise of Vajpayee and said, “I am extremely saddened by the sad demise of a fatherly figure of our country former Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji. In his passing away we all are at immense loss”.
“Atal Ji was an iconic and charismatic figure who was loved by all. He was a true statesman who often rose above political differences for the cause of humanity, justice and peace. He was a true inspiration,” Khandu said in a message.
“Remembering his gentle soul who will remain forever in our heart. May he rest in peace!” he added.
