ITANAGAR, June 12: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has urged the state government to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the alleged misappropriation of untied fund by the deputy commissioner of Kra Daadi district.
In a statement, the APCC on Tuesday alleged that the Kra Daadi deputy commissioner misused over Rs 7 crore from the untied fund, and that he violated the laid down norms while executing the SIDF schemes amounting to Rs 150 crore.
Earlier, the All Kra Daadi District Students’ Union (AKDDSU) brought a similar charge against the deputy commissioner.
Terming it as a ‘big scam’, the statement claimed that the APCC in a representation, submitted to the chief secretary on March 26, 2018, had urged the state government not to release the untied fund of Rs 221 crore allotted in the state.
“The chief secretary should now take the responsibility of such a big scam of untied fund,” the APCC said while downplaying BJP’s tall claim of corruption-free governance.
The statement also came down heavily on the Pema-Khandu led government for deteriorating law and order situation, rise in cases theft, rape, kidnapping, atrocities on women and girls etc.
The APCC also made reference to the recent rape of a 17-year-old girl of Doimukh Circle, vandalism at Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Director’s official residence at Nirjuli etc.
Terming it a total failure of the law and order machinery, the statement demanded resignation of the chief minister.
