National Integration Tour flagged off in Diphu

DIPHU, July 11: A National Integration Tour conducted by the unit of the Red Horns Division from July 3 to 10 for the children of Harihajan, East Karbi Anglong District of Assam to Kolkata was flagged in by Col JVS Rawat at Army camp in Diphu on Wednesday.

The excursion consisted of 30 students and three teachers from Klirdap English High School, Langmili, Harihajan. As part of the tour, children visited various places of interest like Eden gardens, Victoria memorial and Salt Lake Football Stadium and they also enjoyed a movie at Inox Multiplex at Forum Mall.

The children also interacted with General Officer Commanding-in-Chief , Eastern Command Lt Gen Abhay Krishna PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM who encouraged the students to do well in the lives. The students also visited the Raj Bhawan and met the Governor of West Bengal.

The National Integration tour fulfilled its motive to acquaint the children from remote area of Harihajan with the vast and rich heritage of the country and to observe the country from a different perspective. The tour will wean away the future of this region from terrorism.
