NDRF cleanliness drive under Swachhata Hi Sewa

GUWAHATI, Oct 1: Troops of 1st battalion National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) took out cleanliness drives at Guwahati Medical College and Kachumari Ghat in Guwahati under Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign on Sunday morning.

During the campaign, 1st Bn NDRF deputy commandant Manohar Singh along with  152 NDRF personnel participated in drives.

Additional DC Pulak Mahanta also took part in the campaign. During the campaign NDRF personnel cleaned the GMCH campus and Kachumari Ghat area and dispose of garbage.

The aim of the campaign is to intensify the focus on cleanliness and to create an environment of cleanliness across the country in the spirit of Jana Andolan. Hon’ble Prime Minister of India will formally launch the “SWACHHTA HI SEWA” campaign from 15th September, 2017 to 2nd October 2017. The third anniversary of the Swachh Bharat mission and Gandhi Jayanti, can be celebrated in a befitting manner. He urged all NGOs, Schools, Colleges, social, cultural and political leaders, corporate, government officials, collectors and sarpanches, to accelerate Swachhata activities during the 15th  September to 2nd October 2017  period.
