GUWAHATI, Sept 25: A team of doctors, medic and paramedic staff of NDRF Guwahati organised mobile hospital at Gobardhana Kharija Bijni College under Barnagar revenue circle in Barpeta district on Monday.
In mobile hospital, 690 patients with chronic and seasonal diseases including Hepatitis B and C were diagnosed, checked the blood group of school children’s of High School Bogbar and Barkhetri and given medical advice by the highly committed doctor and medical team. Local people were also given health tips and sensitized to take due precaution against the seasonal diseases that sometimes takes the shape of epidemic. The aim of organizing medical camp is to ensure the good health of deprived, underprivileged and poor people who do not have access to good hospitals due to financial constraints. Most of the patients who visited the camp were school children, rickshaw pullers, vendors and labourers.
Chief medical officer of 1st Bn NDRF, KB Singh stated, “Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver. Inflammation causes soreness and swelling. Hepatitis can be caused by many things. Hepatitis is most commonly caused by one of the 5 hepatitis viruses (A, B, C, D or E). All types of hepatitis cause inflammation of the liver, which interferes with its ability to function. Lack of blood supply to the liver, poison, autoimmune disorders, excessive alcohol use, an injury to the liver and taking certain medicines can also cause hepatitis.”
