Ajmal just wasting his energy by campaigning for UPPL candidate UG Brahma
KOKRAJHAR, April 12: “AIUDF has no impact whatsoever in Kokrajhar”, this was reiterated by Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief and Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) president Hagrama Mohilary during an election campaign where he was pitching for party candidate Pramila Rani Brahma. He also added that the BPF-AGP-BJP alliance will easily sweep the Lok Sabha Polls as the people have trust and confidence upon their candidates and leaders.
He confidently announced that AIUDF supremo Badaruddin Ajmal is just wasting his energy by campaigning for UPPL candidate UG Brahma, as BPF candidate Pramila Rani Brahma has the support of majority in Kokrajhar.
Mohilary was addressing an election campaign for his party candidate Pramila Rani Brahma on Friday at Banargaon where he claimed that AIUDF has no base in BTC as a political party and have no chances of coming close to their candidates let alone win any seat. Mohilary also reiterated that the people are openly showing resentment against sitting MP Naba Kumar Sarania and Congress candidate Sabdaram Rabha for they have not done much work for the people.
Mohilary also took the opportunity to inform people that, as the chief of BTC, he will put pressure on chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal to provide rice at 50 paise per kg instead of current Rupees 1 per kg in sixth scheduled areas. He also added BPF is strongly keeping an eye on the issue of ST status for six communities and believes that the issue will be addressed shortly.
On the other hand, AIUDF chief Badaruddin Ajmal on Friday campaigned for UPPL candidate UG Brahma for Kokrajhar seat at Haslabari near Dhaligaon in Chirang district. He addressed an august gathering and announced the AIUDF-UPPL alliance in Kokrajhar, Barpeta and Dhubri Lok Sabha seats and wished for the healthy integrity of the region. He reiterated that UG Brahma is the only candidate who, if voted to power, can usher in peace and unity among all sections of society.
Ajmal also took the opportunity to launch scathing attack on the BJP led alliance government in Assam. He said that the current government in the state has completely failed to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the people and acted against the interests of the state.
Meanwhile, Congress candidate for Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat, Sabdaram Rabha denied the allegations levelled against him by sitting MP Naba Kumar Sarania and maintained that the allegations are totally baseless and fabricated. Rabha while talking exclusively to The Hills Times Correspondent in Kokrajhar informed that Sarania is too scared of his imminent defeat in the upcoming elections and hence he is making such false remarks. Rabha also termed the UPPL-AIUDF alliance is an unholy nexus formed for the doom of BTC ahead of the election in the region. He also maintained that Congress will come out with flying colors in this election.
