One arrested for writing threat letters

HOJAI, Sept 10:The Daboka Police nabbed one Rajul Alam from Nagaon on Tuesday for allegedly writing a threat letter and demanding a ransom of INR 6 lakh from Hilaluddin Barbhuyan, a Businessman at Daboka under Hojai district.

As per information, the accused wrote a threatening letter on May 31 demanding 6 Lakhs. The letter was sent to the businessmen in the name of non-familiar organisation NACM (R). Along with the letter, two bullets of AK 47 and three knot three pistol were also sent. The businessman also received phone threats where he was informed that if the amount was not paid, his only son would be kidnapped and killed.

The businessmen who filed a complaint at Daboka Police finally took a sigh of relief as the accused was arrested from Nagaon by police recently. Notably, the accused is a resident of Padhimunit under Murajhar PS in Hojai district.
