GUWAHATI, Nov 21: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal released the election manifesto of the state BJP for the upcoming panchayat elections in the state slated on December 5 and 9.
Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Pradesh BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass and other senior leaders of the party also attended the function held at its office at Hengrabari here.
In the manifesto, the BJP promised a slew of measures for development of rural areas by undertaking various schemes. “Congress had looted all funds meant for development of rural areas in the past 15 years,” Sonowal said releasing the manifesto.
“Due to deep rooted corruption, the people of the state are have decided to stand with BJP in the upcoming panchayat elections. BJP will win in all the seats in the elections,” he claimed.
Denying the charges that BJP has failed to keep its electoral promises, Pradesh BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass said the BJP-led government has busted syndicate raj of the Congress.
“We have fulfilled our promises. We have promised during the last assembly elections that we will bring change and to protect our Jati, Mati, Bheti and we have done it. Several thousands bighas land of our satras were encroached by the infiltrators. We have continued our drives against the encroachers to protect satras and Kaziranga National Park. The incidents of rhino poaching has gone down due to our strict vigil,” Dass claimed.
