DIPHU, July 4: A large number of people thronged the residence of former executive member (EM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Ramsing Engti, who passed away at Zion Hospital in Dimapur on Tuesday.
His mortal remains were brought to his residence at Lorulangso for the people to pay their last respects.
In the morning KAAC deputy chairman Ritesh Engti paid homage to the departed leader. The executive committee of KAAC led by EM Pradip Rongpi and other EMs, including Rupsing Teron, Ratan Teron and MACs Richard Tokbi and Dorsing Ronghang also paid their last respects to him.
Engti was holding the post of chairman of Cotton Jininig Mill at the time of his death. His body will be cremated at Public cremation ground here on Thursday.
A condolence meeting was held at conference hall of KAAC Secretariat here on Wednesday. The Executive Committee led by EM Pradip Rongpi paid its tributes to the departed soul.
The Karbi Anglong BJP also held a condolence meeting in the party’s office at Rongnihang here. The meeting, presided over by president Ratan Teron, was attended by vice presidents Bharat Kumar Timung and Seema Ronghangpi, secretary Madhuram Lekthe, deputy chairman Ritesh Enghee and party workers.
