GUWAHATI, Sept 16: “Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was not only a politician but he was also an eminent poet who portrayed myriad hues of life through his poetic creations. His words were truly mesmerising which spoke of humanity and humane values.” Media adviser to chief minister Hrishikesh Goswami said while speaking as the chief guest in “Aao Firse Diya Jalayein” poetry session held on the occasion of one month completion of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s demise which was organised by MyGov Assam and cultural directorate at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra on Sunday.
Saying that Vajpayee would have been immortal through his poetic creations even without becoming a prime minister, Goswami said that the former prime minister was an epitome of a great personality and he appreciated Dr Bhupen Hazarika for his poem like songs.
Editor of Dainik Purvoday Ravi Shankar Ravi said that that Vajpayee’s poems could find a place in the hearts of people all around the world. Commissioner and Secretary of Industry and Commerce Department Asutosh Agnihotri, Chairman of Jyoti ChitrabanPabitra Margherita, DGP Assam Police Kuladhar Saikia also spoke on the occasion and recited poems. Director of Information and Public Relations Department Rajib Prakash Barua also recited poem on the occasion.
During the programme, prizes were distributed by Media Adviser Goswami along with the dignitaries to the award winners in the poetry competition organised by MyGov Assam in memory of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
