Prohibitory order in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, April 28: The Kokrajhar district administration has issued prohibitory orders in the district due to likelihood of occurrence of law and order situation due to group clashes and communal disturbances in the district.

Kokrajhar district magistrate Bhaskar Phukan through an order has promulgated 144/144-A CrPC in the entire district of Kokrajhar with effect from Tuesday.

The promulgation of 144/144-A CrPC has strictly prohibited assembly of five or more persons in any public, taking out any processions, shouting slogans, holding meetings or rallies, dharna, etc. in any public places. The use of full mask helmets by riders, use of tinted glass in vehicles are strictly prohibited.

On the Covid-19 situation, Phukan said that the district administration and health authorities are working dedicatedly to combat the Covid-19 situation in the district.

He said that health authorities are taking strict steps while promoting social distancing as well awareness among the society to break the chain of Covid spread.

He informed that the Covid vaccination drive is going on at all hospitals and health centres across the district. He urged the citizens to come forward to take Covid vaccine and also urged all to maintain strict social distancing besides regularly using masks and adhering to hand sanitisation.
