GUWAHATI, June 26: Continuing its drive against human trafficking, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) rescued good numbers of children and women from various stations and trains over NFR during last few days.
In such incidents on June 22 and 23, RPF officials of Tinsukia division conducted drives against anti-social elements at New Tinsukia and Dibrugarh railway stations.
During the drives, the RPF teams rescued three minor boys – one from New Tinsukia and two others from Dibrugarh railway stations. After enquiry, rescued boys were handed over to concerned Childline for their safe custody and further course of action.
On June 20 ‘Meri Saheli’ team of RPF Post/New Coochbehar rescued one differently abled woman from Train No. 05955 DN (Kamakhya – Delhi special). After that one person attended at RPF Post/New Coochbehar and disclosed his identity as the husband of the rescued woman. After proper verification, the rescued woman was allowed to leave with her husband.
