GUWAHATRI, Aug 24: Under its Corporate Responsibility scheme, the State Bank of India (SBI) donated an ambulance to Batadrawa Than Porichalana Samity in Nagaon on Wednesday to provide better transportation facility to patients belonging to poor and downtrodden families near the Than.
SBI (North East Circle) chief general manager PVSLN Murty , has handed over the ambulance to Batadrawa Than Porichalana Samity in presence of additional chief secretary MGVK Bhanu, SBI general manager Om Prakash Mishra, deputy general managers Bisweswar Haldar and Manjit Saikia, Batadrawa Than general secretary Brajen Kakati and senior bank officials.
In his address, Murty expressed happiness to donate the ambulance to the Than on the occasion 448th death anniversary of Srimanta Sankardeva. Notably, Alipukhuri is known to be birth place of Shankardev.
The SBI also opened an ATM counter at Batadrawa. Murty also present in the opening ceremony of a book fair, which was inaugurated by Nagaon deputy commissioner Shamsher Singh.
