Scribes’ body contributes Rs 30,500 to CMRF

DIPHU, Aug 8:District Press Club of Karbi Anglong (DPCKA) on Thursday handed over a cheque of Rs 30,500 to Karbi Anglong deputy commissioner Mukul Kr. Saikia for Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for flood-hit people of the state. The amount was collected through charity drive from businessmen, shopkeepers of Diphu market and from elected representatives and government officials.

DPCKA president Kiri Ronghang, secretary Danielson Bey, adviser Sanju Bora, working president Rajbir Singh and vice president Depankar Das along with other scribes like Kamrul Khan, S Miji Engleng, Vivian Longki Rongpi, Prodip Kro and DPCKA finance secretary Kangklir Teron handed the cheque to DC.

“It’s not a big amount, but we are able to contribute something to the flood affected people. Our contribution will be useful in some way for the flood victims,” DPCKA president Kiri Ronghang said.
