GUWAHATI, Oct 5: As a part of ‘National Mission on Government e-Market Place (GeM)’, a seminar/training was organised on Thursday at the Conference hall of N F Railway (Construction) head Qtrs, Maligaon. The programme was organised with the aim to create awareness among users as well as vendors to ensure purchase of all commonly used goods and services available on GeM through its portal.
This will provide ease of buying, making purchases simpler, fast and cost competitive, and also help in maintaining transparency in the system. The seminar/training was organised by Principal Chief Materials Manager, N F Railway, Construction and presided over by SN Singh, Chief Administrative Officer/Con-I where a large numbers of local vendors, staff and officers attended.
S N Singh, CAO/Con-I in his address, reiterated that NFR/Con has resolved to mandatorily follow 100% purchase through GeM which ensures transparency, efficiency and ease in public buying. Singh said that the seminar/training will immensely help in creating awareness among all the users of GeM from the Railway as well as the Vendors. He further wished great success in achieving the objectives of the ‘National Mission on Government e-Market Place (GeM)’.
Training was imparted by Anuda Shukla, GeM facilitator from New Delhi.
A compendium of “Guidelines on Procurement of Goods and Services through GeM” was also released on this occasion.
