Sonowal calls on Naidu

NEW DELHI, Aug 23: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal called on Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu at Maulana Azad Road in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Sonowal extended his warm greetings and expressed hope that democracy in India would be further strengthened and the nation-building process would get a major boost with Naidu assuming the office of the second top constitutional post of the country. The chief minister also thanked Naidu for the love and affection he had shown towards Assam and the North East during his stint as union cabinet minister and sought his cooperation in highlighting the issues of the region at different fora. Sonowal also hoped that the country would immensely benefit from Naidu’s vast experience of public life and in-depth knowledge of parliamentary rules and regulations.
