GUWAHATI, Nov 14: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal directed the officials of panchayat and rural development department to regularly interact with beneficiaries of rural development schemes while reviewing the implementation of PMAY and MGNREGA schemes being implemented by the department in a meeting held at Janata Bhawan here on Thursday.
The chief minister directed the officials to ensure time bound completion of the houses, which are being constructed under PMAY scheme. He said that officials of all rank and file must work with dedication and commitment and regularly interact with the beneficiaries jointly with panchayat representatives. The chief minister also directed the senior officials of the department to interact with beneficiaries through video conference. He also suggested to hold review of all rural development schemes on regular intervals.
The chief minister also discussed about the digital literacy programme and asked the department to take necessary steps to make all panchayat representatives digitally literate.
Minister of state for P&RD Naba Kumar Doley, principal secretary to CM Sanjay Lohiya, commissioner of P&RD JB Ekka, ASRLM mission director Nandita Hazarika and other senior officials of the department were present in the meeting.
