ITANAGAR, Sept 26: Kurung Kumey Zila Parishad chairperson and All Arunachal Pradesh Panchayat Parishad secretary general, Sangha Tagik on Tuesday demanded a CBI or SIT investigation into the death of student Toko Yame in Tawang.
In a memorandum to Arunachal Pradesh home minister, Tagik said the body of the class-XII student Toko Yame was found after eight days of missing and was recovered in semi decomposed condition from Biga bridge water fall near JNV School in Tawang. “Since the body was not found even after lots of search in the same locality previously and after eight days, it seems that it is cold blooded murder,” Tagik alleged.
Tagik also said that the boy got missing after a group class among the students on September 16 last. There is foul play in the tragic death of the student, Tagik said.
Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu has expressed deep shock over the death of young student Toko Yame whose semi-decomposed body was recovered near JNV school at Tawang on Monday.
Stating that the state government has taken up the matter very seriously, Khandu ordered for a thorough enquiry to unearth the truth and ascertain the reasons behind the death. He assured the family members that the perpetrators would not be spared in any circumstance and would be taken to task according to the law of the land.
Conveying his deep sense of condolence to the bereaved family members, Khandu said that the state government will ensure that timely justice is delivered to the aggrieved family.
