Morigaon/NAMRUP, Aug 23: All Assam Journalist Union (AAJU), Morigaon district committee on Friday paid tribute to noted journalist – Kuldip Nayar who passed away on Thursday. Paying tribute to the noted journalist, a condolence meeting was organised by AAJU, Morigaon unit at Morigaon town. Simanta Rabha, secretary, AAJU conducted the condolence meeting. On the other hand, Pranab Bhatachary, president, AAJU delivered a speech on Kuldip Nayar’s role in respect of introducing the Assam agitation throughout the country. The programme was also attended by Lalit Pasoni President, AJYCP.
Meanwhile, Assam Press Correspondent Union (APCU) also mourned the death of journalist Kuldip Nayar.
The union’s central committee president Manoj Singh said, “India have lost a veteran and fearless journalist and it will be impossible to fill up the space of such a fearless writer, author.” Assam Press Correspondent Union district committee President Abdul Razak Ali, general secretary Smrity Rekha Kalita and working president Dharani Gogoi also expressed their condolence to the family members of the veteran journalist.
