TTSA submits memo to Biswanath DC

BISWANATH CHARIALI, April 19: The Pertabghur primary unit of Assam Tea Tribe Students Association submitted a memorandum to Biswanath deputy commissioner on Monday demanding inquiry against the alleged excavation of sand and soil from the river basin of Ghiladhari River causing a lot of hurdles to the cattle and human population residing in the area.

Notably, T.K. Engineering, a construction company was engaged in the construction works of four lane road here. The said company and supplier of soil had dug ditches measuring 20-30 feet deep inside the river. Five youths from the Sootea area had lost their lives recently.

The ATTSA unit demanded ten lakhs for each of the deceased’s family members, to stop the excavation, repairing of embankment, etc.

Jiten Tanti, Barun Guwala, Pratap Gorh along with other office bearers of ATTSA were present in the team on Monday.
