KOKRAJHAR, Aug 18: With a view to provide higher study facilities among Bodo medium students in lower Assam districts, the Upendra National (UN) Academy, a private managed Bodo medium school in Kokrajhar has introduced Post Graduate(PG) course at UN Academy(West Campus), Chandrapara in connection with the celebration of freshmen social day-2018 at the school complex on Saturday.
The UN Academy was started in 2002 with limited students in Bodo medium and now it has covered 13 districts across the state, apart from Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Udalguri, Sonitpur, Biswanath, Dhemaji, Karbi Anglong, Golaghat, Goalpara etc. There are 80 schools all over Assam and has a total student enrolment of over 13,000 students in the schools. This year, the UN Academy management board has expanded its educational spheres up to Post Graduate and opened the Post Graduate courses affiliated under Bodoland University. The UN Academy has been planning to establish independent University by 2022 and its necessary preparations are underway for paving the way quality education among students.
Registrar of Bodoland University cut the ribbon to inaugurate the PG Course at UN Academy in Kokrajhar in the presence of a host of dignitaries, apart from retired principals of Kokrajhar Govt College Surath Narzary, Dr Binoy Kumar Brahma, ex Rajya Sabha MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Director of Colleges of University Degree Course Dr Dinonath Basumatary, chairman of Upendra Nath Brahma Trust Dr Subung Basumatary.
