KOKRAJHAR, Aug 5: The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) claimed that people in the Bodoland Territorial Council will be voting in favour of the UPPL party to pave way for Parivartan and development. UPPL observed its 5th Foundation Day on Wednesday at central office in Kokrajhar and different district as well as block committees.
Vice president of the party and BTC MCLA Rwngwra Narzary hoisted the party flag followed by paying homage to martyrs on the occasion.
Narzary said that the party will be contesting in 40 seats in the upcoming BTC elections and exuded confidence that his party will emerge victorious in at least 30 seats. He further asserted that BPF party failed to live upto the expectations of the people during their 17-year reign.
Narzary, further denied the reports of a BJP-UPPL alliance understanding in a meeting held in New Delhi, as reported by a section of media. He further alleged it to be a conspiracy of GSP president and Lok Sabha MP Naba Kumar Sarania and BPF supremo Hagrama Mohilary to create confusion among the common masses ahead of the council elections.
Former Rajya Sabha MP and UPPL senior leader UG Brahma said that people from all walks of life are coming forward to extend support to UPPL party and claimed that his party will coming out with flying colours in the upcoming elections.
