Kokrajhar, Aug 19: The first ever triennial conference of the Debargaon and Dotma block committee of the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) was concluded with a day long programme scheduled at Bishmuri ground and Simlaguri ground in Kokrajhar district on Sunday.
Former Rajya Sabha MP and UPPL president Urkhao Gwra Brahma graced as chief on the occasion at Bishmuri. Brahma, in his speech said that his party was formed to work for the common people and working for the welfare of the citizens since its inception. He said that even though government of India offered rights to the citizens who are living along the forest areas under forest dwellers act, 2006, yet some areas in Assam are not entitled certificates so far. He has urged the state government to implement the forest dwellers act properly so that forest dwellers are not deprived.
He said that BTC region should be developed through proper implementation of development schemes in the region. He has urged citizens to be united among all sections of society.
Among others, BTC MCLAs Rwngwra Narzary, Guneswar Goyary, party leaders Rabiram Ujir, Buddadeve Mushahary were prominent attendees on the occasion.
