70+ Women Entrepreneurs Awarded with “Guwahati Pride Award”
GUWAHATI, Dec 5: One of the most popular and leading women organizations ‘Wommaniaas’ celebrated its 1st anniversary in a grand event held at Machkuwa ITA Center in Guwahati on Sunday.
More than 70+ awards in different categories were given under ‘Guwahati Pride Awards’ and the official launch of ‘Wommaniaas Calendar’ was also organised during a colorful program at the ITA Center at Machkhowa. On this occasion more than 270 members were also awarded with a token of appreciation by Wommaniaas.
On this occasion, renowned singer Shanta Ujir attended the award ceremony as the chief guest. Project director National Child Labour Project Kamrup Metro Mouchumi Mahanta, social activist Archana Borthakur as the special guest of honour along with other guests inaugurated Wommaniaas Award 2021 by lighting the lamp. During inauguration, the founders of Wommaniaas, Divya Siotia, Nita Sharma, Nupur Agarwal were also present.
In her address, the chief guest Ujir sent her best wishes to all the members on the first anniversary of Wommaniaas. She said that in the last one year, Wommaniaas has made a different identity for itself. Apart from taking their talent to the masses, women and girls are being able to strengthen themselves financially by joining Wommaniaas, which is a good sign.
Founder Divya Siotia informed that under Wommaniaas Award 2021, open voting was conducted on social media for 70+ different categories for Guwahati Pride Award. On the basis of complete transparency and votes cast by the people, the winners were awarded the Wommaniaas Award 2021. Apart from this, tokens of appreciation were given to all other 270+ members of Wommaniaas.
On this occasion, the founder Nita Sharma said that the main objective behind the launch of Wommaniaas is to provide a platform to the domestic and working women where they can develop their art further.
