JORHAT, July 20: An international workshop on ‘Emerging trends in Digital Visualization and Mapping (Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality)’ was held at Kaziranga University, Jorhat on July 16.
The workshop was aimed at familiarizing researchers, faculty members and students about the emerging trends, paradigms of data visualization namely Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) and their utility in different areas of various walks of life.
Furthermore, this workshop explored 3D mapping technologies such as ArcGIS, City Engine, and Unity Game Engine to manipulate and analyze spatial, geographic data to better understand the urban spatial and historical context.
The eminent speakers of the workshop were Dr Kaushal Kumar Bhagat from IIT Kharagpur; Dr Aryabrata Basu from Emory University, USA; Dr Micheal Page from Emory University, USA; Prof Tarun Kumar and Dr Sajal Saha from Kaziranga University.
The workshop was attended by the faculty, students and research scholars from Jorhat Engineering College, Rajiv Gandhi University of Cooperative Management, Assam Women University, Royal Global University, NEIST Jorhat and Kaziranga University.
