Veteran Cricket Association of Assam on Saturday welcomed the decision. The secretary of the organization Nasir Gul Khan said that the decision may not give instant result but in the long run it will definitely help Assam Cricket Association to build a good team with their own players.
The governing body meeting also approved the coach and selection panels for the coming season. Zakaria Zuffri included in the Ranji Trophy team along with Subhrajit Saikia as coach. Sunil Joshi will be the chief coach of the team. On the other hand Gautam Dutta, Ajay Ratra and Dhiraj Jadhav appointed as the chief coach of U-23, U-19 and U-16 squad.
