GUWAHATI, Nov 28: After Rowta and Biswanath Chariali, Guwahati City FC (GCFC) expanded its grassroots Football training facility in the state with Sarusajai centre was inaugurated on Thursday at the International School, Nalapara.
With a view to provide training and scout talented kids, GCFC has started setting up Football Schools across the state and centre which is being operated in association with International School, will be the first one to be operated from Guwahati City.
The school has now 50 kids from 4 to 15 years age and they are being trained by AIFF licensed coach Bitupan Sonowal and other coaches. Kids from the school is also participating in the ongoing Greater Guwahati Baby League (GGBL) as GCFC UNICORNS to gain competitive experience from tender age.
The school is formally inaugurated by the Director of the International School, Mamani Deka and she was felicitated by GCFC management. Directors of GCFC Siddhartha Sankar Deka and Kaustab Chakraborty were also present along with the players, coaches and parents, told a statement by GCFC.
